Halves and Wholes from Fairy Bread

In Maths we have been learning to recognize what a half and a whole looks like. Here are some photos of us making fairy bread. We had to have a whole piece and then cut a piece in half. Then we got to eat it!

Learning how to tell the time

We are learning to tell the time using the hour and minute hands.

We can show different o’clock times on the clock.

We were learning where the big and little hands go to show o'clock times.

This week we worked with a buddy to tell time. We took turns at asking our buddy to show a different time on the clock .

Project Energise

Teamwork:

Today we had Bodean  from Project Energise in our school . He taught  us a game we could play as a team . We had to find bean bags, tennis balls or discs that he had hidden under cones . We had to work together and help the other members of our team by giving encouragement , telling them where to find the objects and  running fast to find the next item we needed. The children enjoyed the games. We have timed ourselves and we have promised to work on helping each other so that we will get faster at finding the objects. The fastest team gathered all the objects in 1 minute 30 seconds. We want to beat this time.

Nature and us!

Over the past 4 weeks we have had tadpoles in our room. About 2 weeks ago the tadpoles began to turn into frogs! We have loved watching the process of how they change. Here are some pictures of our frogs and a leaf moth we found outside. We found out that the leaf moth likes to eat nectar from flowers and rotten fruit. After we looked at the moth for a while we set it free.

Learning The Alphabet

We do word works everyday. The children are learning the alphabet by seeing, saying and hearing  the sound and the name of the letter. They then use the whiteboards to  writing  the letters .

Maths

We are learning  to quickly read a number then  make a set with blocks and order  them.

Writing

Today Room 4 Children were learning how to use the app Explain Everything. They learnt how to change the thickness of the pen, how to delete, how to change colour and how to make a capital letter on a keyboard.
Then they  drew their favourite animal or toy. They used the keyboard and their alphabet and word cards to write their stories with support from the teacher.
