Dr Seuss's ABC book- Writing

Today we read Dr Seuss's ABC book as we are having a Dr Seuss day tomorrow at school.
In writing we were learning about  Alliteration .
The children listened to the book being read to them.
We then looked at what alliteration was. As a group we chose an animal that we would see at the zoo. Together we thought of some words that start with the  beginning sound and wrote these down and then as a class we made our sentence. The children paired up and they had a picture of an animal and they wrote down their words and then  with the support of the teacher made up their sentences.

Alliteration happens when words that start with the same sound are used close together in a sentence. The sound is usually a consonant and the words don't have to always be right next to one another.

Tahlia's  alliteration sentence

Calla's alliteration sentence.

Phoebe's alliteration sentence

Riah's alliteration sentence.
